Sushi Night

One of the substitute teachers I met through work, T., came over tonight for dinner. It was nice, just the two of us, since J. is in Val D’Or at a union meeting.

After work, I prepped the rice in the rice cooker. When T. came over, we got some sweet potatoes, shittake mushrooms, avocado, carrot and yellow pepper for the filling. I even mixed traditional wasabi powder to go with it. We slurped miso soup as an appetizer, munched on some daikon and sipped some Chinese tea too.

We became pretty full fairly quickly, because we packed a bit too much rice in our rolls. It was still pretty tasty and turned out to be a great evening after a stressful day!
